The government official announced, during a meeting today, Monday, of the Productive Sectors Committee in the House of Representatives, with the aim of studying and voting on a draft law No. 30.20 to enact special provisions related to travel contracts, tourist stays and air transport contracts for travelers, that it expects citizens to make reservations for the coming summer, due to the possible drop in prices.

The Minister of Tourism, Air Transport, Traditional Industry and Social Economy told the members of the Productive Sectors Committee that the indications are that many citizens will spend their vacation, especially as the movement will certainly return to the tourism sector, stressing the need to preserve the hard currency.

In this regard, Nadia Fattah Al-Alwi confirmed that the aforementioned bill that was approved set 15 months to compensate everyone who booked before returning the price of reservations, highlighting that the goal is to preserve the hard currency in this period, especially since the stage that Morocco will know in the coming months It will be difficult.

The Minister responsible for the tourism sector confirmed that Bill No. 30.20 pertaining to travel contracts, tourist stays and air transport contracts for travelers programmed between the period of March 1, 2020 to September 30, 2020, which was canceled as a result of the outbreak of the Corona virus "Covid-19" as an unpredictable emergency And bypass it.

The government official stressed that the draft law gives customers compensation and restitution of hotel amounts and plane tickets, by enacting special provisions related to travel contracts, tourist stays and air transport contracts for travelers, noting that the goal envisaged in the draft law is to limit all forms of stopping economic activity and its impact on positions Workpiece; This is by reducing pressure on the treasury of service providers, emphasizing avoiding the risk of bankruptcy of Moroccan service providers and protecting the interests of creditors, especially customers.

The project seeks to stimulate demand and preserve the value of transactions in Morocco, by avoiding the expected payments to be made in hard currency, as its requirements will allow service providers to offset the amounts due to their customers by connecting the debt in the form of a similar or equivalent service proposal without any increase in price.

In this context, the fifth article of the aforementioned bill stipulated that the service provider that was unable to fulfill the obligations arising from the contracts to propose to the customer instead of returning the sums paid in the fee for the abrogated contract in connection with a debt the latter may use.

In this regard, according to the draft law, it is possible for owners of hotels and tourist establishments or to present in every way that proves arriving within a period not exceeding 15 days from the date of entry into force of the law, noting that it shows the amount of the connection with a debt and the condition of its use.

The project set requirements for Umrah, which do not apply to the conditions of the rest of the air transport, explaining that "the validity period of the proposal submitted to the customer is determined in nine months starting from the submission of the proposal to the concerned."

The draft bill cautioned that in the event that the new service is not possible after the lifting of the state of health emergency, the service provider will immediately return the sums paid for the abrogated contract fee or the amount equal to the remaining balance of the debt debit that was not used by the customer according to the case.
